About
Abbie De La Cruz, originally from Peru, is a fashion lover who takes inspiration from nature and textiles. She is a graduated fashion designer and dressmaker, with working experience in haute couture for more than 24 years, with expertise in Line and Design.
In her 2025 collection, she plans on unveiling an additional innovative design, showcasing her cultural heritage and ancestral influences. This collection will persist in accentuating romantic silhouettes, prioritizing elegance and comfort for diverse figures and ages, while conveying her passion and energy for fashion.
For this haute couture collection, Abbie will be showcasing coats featuring intricate hand and machine embroidery applications. Utilizing wool and cotton fabrics with natural silk, she strives to craft her garments from sustainable, reusable and easy-to-maintain materials. Select garments will also have imitation leather accents.
Additionally, the collection will include evening and special occasion dresses that accentuate feminine curves, presented in a vibrant colour palette with a distinct Latin flair. This collection will be dedicated to her cultural heritage and ancestors, as well as her father and maternal grandmother. Abbie De La Cruz is honoured to represent her country with her collection.
Philosophy & Values
Abbie’s philosophy prioritizes the creation of romantic silhouettes. She considers it crucial that every garment a woman wears offers both comfort and glamour, irrespective of size or age. Women aspire to feel flattered and romantic. What better way to accomplish this than by dressing accordingly?
In accordance with fundamental fashion principles – balance, contrast, emphasis, movement, pattern, proportion, repetition, and unity – her designs are created. Balance, in the context of fashion, refers to the harmonious arrangement of visual elements, including shape, colour, texture, and proportion, to create a visually appealing and cohesive look, striking a balance between different components to achieve stability and aesthetics.
Skills & Experience
Haute Couture is Abbie’s forté and she currently works as a Dressmaker and Designer. She is trained in Advanced Dressmaking; Decorative Features; Embroidery; Garment Decoration; Pattern Alteration; Drafting Patterns; and Designing by Draping, as well as possessing expertise in fashion Line and Design. She hopes this gives you an idea of how passionate she is for fashion and comfort!
